S1 Family Hike & Trail

The S1 Family Hike & Trail has a route very similar to the S1 HalfTrail – 21 km, largely following its course but with a reduced loop of 6 km. The beauty and variety of the landscape remain unchanged.

A loop route through vineyards and Karst scenery, which consistently offers splendid views of the sea.

The celebratory section for the tenth anniversary introduces a novelty compared to the most iconic routes of past editions, starting with a direction that goes into the Carso vineyards.

Afterwards, participants will face Monte Ermada, giving them a unique visual experience: on one side, the Italian and Slovenian Alps, majestically covered in snow, and on the other, the intense blue of the Gulf of Trieste.

A mix of dirt road, never monotonous or repetitive, always with views of the sea or mountains, along with single track trails. The variations in rhythm, the type of terrain, and the scenery make the race always varied and interesting, never monotonous, always devoid of technically difficult or exposed sections.

The final section crosses the Duino Cliffs Nature Reserve, following the spectacular Rilke Trail, one of the most beautiful and panoramic routes in the entire Upper Adriatic, as well as the most enchanting panoramic point on the Gulf of Trieste. The arrival, celebrated in great style for the tenth anniversary, offers a breathtaking view of the gulf and the finish line directly from the wonderful cliffs of the Rilke Trail. Subsequently, the descent brings participants to sea level, where they will cross the finish line at water level.
