The events are organised on a non-profit basis, but with the intention of promoting the territory, sport and the values of trail running.<\/p>\n<p>These principles form the foundation of competitions, and the decisions of the competition management are always guided by them. Competitions offer <strong>qualifying points for the ITRA and UTMB circuits<\/strong> and are under the aegis of CONI and AICS.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 2 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art2\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">2<\/div>\n<h3>Participation Requirements<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>In order to participate in an S1 Competitive event, it is necessary:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Be fully aware of the length and specificity of the race and have a <strong>adequate training<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>To have acquired, prior to the competition, a real capacity for personal autonomy in the mountains that allows one to manage possible problems, in particular:\n<ul>\n<li>Being able to cope independently with very difficult weather conditions (night, wind, cold, fog, rain or snow).<\/li>\n<li>Being able to handle physical or mental complications caused by extreme fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, muscle or joint pain, minor injuries.<\/li>\n<li>Be aware that the role of the organisation is not to assist runners in dealing with their problems and that safety depends above all on the competitor's ability to adapt.<\/li>\n<li>Inform and sensitise their companions about respecting places, people and the rules of the race.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"s1-r-alert\">\n<p><svg viewbox=\"0 0 24 24\"><circle cx=\"12\" cy=\"12\" r=\"10\"\/><path d=\"M12 16v-4\"\/><path d=\"M12 8h.01\"\/><\/svg>Valid competitive medical certificate (athletics, cross-country skiing, triathlon, cycling or swimming) compulsory for Italian citizens and non-citizens registered in Italy with a federation or sports promotion body recognised by CONI.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Competitive race classification:<\/strong> Bora Ultra (116 km), Trieste Ultra (61 km), TransKarst Ultra (55 km) and Borderless Trail (36 km) are competitive events requiring a competitive medical certificate. Half Trail (23 km) can be run competitively (start 9:30 AM, competitive medical certificate required, ITRA\/UTMB Index rankings) or non-competitively (start 10:00 AM, no certificate required). Family Hike &amp; Trail (14.5 km) and Borin (4 km) are non-competitive\/recreational events, with no medical certificate required.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 3 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art3\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">3<\/div>\n<h3>Entry fees<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>SentieroUNO events are non-profit and aim to promote the area and the spirit of trail running. The organisation offers the <strong>maximum flexibility in enrolment<\/strong>, with a basic fee that includes essential services and allows for additional services and options.<\/p>\n<p>The basic fee sets the cost of the tender at the 2016 price of <strong>1 euro per km<\/strong>. This quota provides for five price increase bands:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Band 1<\/strong> - from 01\/04 to 01\/06<\/li>\n<li><strong>Band 2<\/strong> - from 01\/06 to 31\/08<\/li>\n<li><strong>Band 3<\/strong> - 31\/08 to 31\/10<\/li>\n<li><strong>Band 4<\/strong> - 01\/11 to 15\/12<\/li>\n<li><strong>Band 5<\/strong> - from 15\/12 to the day before the competition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Price brackets will be applied until all available seats are used up. Discounts, vouchers from promotions or referrals are not cumulative or transferable several times, unless expressly provided for.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 4 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art4\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">4<\/div>\n<h3>Services included in the basic fee<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>What is included:<\/strong> bib, access to aid stations, medical assistance, finisher's medal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is not included:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cancellation insurance (available in the runner's area)<\/li>\n<li>Personal insurance for post-hospitalisation accident treatment<\/li>\n<li>Shuttle transport to the start line or after the race (available in the runner's area)<\/li>\n<li>Bookable ancillary services: photos, shipment of materials, race package, technical clothing, accommodation and meals, bag delivery at the start, personal taxi service<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 5 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art5\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">5<\/div>\n<h3>Transfer and cancellation by the competitor<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is permitted, <strong>free of charge<\/strong>, the transfer of the basic quota to other S1 events or to the following year, no later than <strong>30 days from the start of the event<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There are no cash refunds, but it is possible to transfer the fee in accordance with the conditions laid down during registration. Other forms of transfer and insurance are available by subscribing to extra options.<\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-alert\">\n<p><svg viewbox=\"0 0 24 24\"><circle cx=\"12\" cy=\"12\" r=\"10\"\/><path d=\"M12 16v-4\"\/><path d=\"M12 8h.01\"\/><\/svg>Vouchers, membership transfers and free gifts from one year to the next must be activated within the first price bracket.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 6 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art6\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">6<\/div>\n<h3>Semi-self-sufficiency<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is essential to respect the principle of individual competition in semi-self-sufficiency: the ability to be autonomous between two aid stations, both in terms of food and equipment and safety.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The competitor must bring with him <strong>all mandatory gear<\/strong> for the entire duration of the race in the rucksack, which must remain the same for the entire route.<\/li>\n<li>Refreshment posts offer drinks and food to be consumed on the spot. On leaving a refreshment point, the runner must have sufficient food and drink to reach the next one.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Personal assistance is only permitted at the aid stations.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Medical assistance by a team member is prohibited. Only minor care (massages, blister treatments) is permitted on condition that the rider remains seated.<\/li>\n<li>It is prohibited to be accompanied along any part of the course by a non-registered person, except in the areas near the service points.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Runners are not allowed to participate with a dog or any other animal, including service animals, without prior authorisation.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 7 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art7\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">7<\/div>\n<h3>Equipment<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Each participant must bring all the items listed in the <strong>mandatory gear<\/strong> indicated on the webpage for their distance, for the entire duration of the race.<\/p>\n<p>One should not opt for the lightest possible clothing; it is recommended to have clothing that offers adequate protection in the mountains against adverse conditions (cold, wind, heavy rain and snow).<\/p>\n<p>If the competitor decides to use poles, he\/she must carry them with him\/her for the duration of the competition. <strong>Starting without poles and retrieving them along the route is prohibited.<\/strong> It is not possible to deposit them in the personal effects bag.<\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-alert\">\n<p><svg viewbox=\"0 0 24 24\"><circle cx=\"12\" cy=\"12\" r=\"10\"\/><path d=\"M12 16v-4\"\/><path d=\"M12 8h.01\"\/><\/svg>If you have any questions about the mandatory gear, please contact the organisation via the WhatsApp assistant or online.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The use of headphones to listen to music is safely tolerated. It is mandatory to remove earphones when crossing roads and in the vicinity of checkpoints and security personnel.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 8 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art8\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">8<\/div>\n<h3>Race bib and packet<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is possible to collect the bib number of other competitors after filling in the delegation fields in the competitor area. The bib must be worn, if possible, on the <strong>front of the body<\/strong> (chest or belly) and always remain visible over clothes.<\/p>\n<p>Sponsor names and logos must not be changed or hidden. The bib is indispensable for access to shuttles, refreshment stands, medical points, rest rooms, showers, bag storage areas.<\/p>\n<p>The bib and race pack can be collected <strong>only during the times stated on the competition page<\/strong>. Shipments and pick-ups by other means are only possible if agreed in advance.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 9 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art9\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">9<\/div>\n<h3>Personal sacks<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Personal bags and sacks are kept in a video-monitored area, but managed independently by the competitors. Bags must be collected <strong>within 2 hours of the end of the competition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Poles cannot be transported by the organisation. The organisation takes no responsibility for the contents of the bags. It is not recommended to deposit valuables.<\/p>\n<p>For some distances, the option of bag delivery at the start line may be available, which can be booked at an extra charge from the runner's area.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 10 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art10\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">10<\/div>\n<h3>Showers<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>A shower service is available at the end of the competition. The organisation accepts no responsibility for objects left in the changing rooms; at the end of the competition, objects left behind will be disposed of.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 11 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art11\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">11<\/div>\n<h3>Shuttles<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Shuttles can be reserved at the time of registration, within the deadline specified on the form. The day before the start of the race, the number and reference of the allocated shuttle will be sent by email.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It is not possible to purchase shuttle tickets on the day of departure.<\/strong> Reservations are personal and guarantee an assigned place.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 12 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art12\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">12<\/div>\n<h3>Respect for the environment<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>By registering for an S1 event, participants undertake to respect the environment and natural spaces. In particular:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>It is absolutely forbidden to throw litter along the route<\/strong> (gel tubes, papers, organic waste, packaging). Commissioners carry out spot checks.<\/li>\n<li>Participants must take their waste to the waste bins at the aid stations. Please bring a bag.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It is compulsory to follow marked paths<\/strong>, avoiding shortcuts that cause erosion and environmental damage.<\/li>\n<li>Disposable utensils will not be distributed in the aid stations. Please bring your own utensils for hot food.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 13 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art13\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">13<\/div>\n<h3>Aid stations<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>The aid stations offer drinks and food to be consumed on site. The organisers only provide water or energy drinks to fill water bottles or water bags.<\/p>\n<p>Leaving one refreshment point, the runner must ensure that he or she has the food and drink needed to reach the next. <strong>Only competitors with a clearly visible bib number have access to the refreshments.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 14 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art14\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">14<\/div>\n<h3>Checkpoints \/ Control Points<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Checks will be carried out at all refreshment posts and at some aid stations. Along the route there will also be <strong>surprise checkpoints<\/strong>, whose location is not disclosed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 15 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art15\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">15<\/div>\n<h3>Signposting and marking<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>The marker flags are equipped with reflective elements for visibility at night. The routes are marked with ribbons, arrows, paint marks or signs with the \u201cS1\u201d logo.<\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-warn\">\n<p>\u26a0\ufe0f ATTENTION: If signs are no longer visible, you must retrace your steps to the last visible sign!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Most of the routes are on paths and forest tracks where sudden detours are possible.<\/li>\n<li>Crossings are signposted with signs and arrows: one sign before the crossing, one immediately after and a confirmation sign.<\/li>\n<li>In bad weather, rain, snow or fog can significantly reduce the visibility of beacons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"s1-r-alert\">\n<p><svg viewbox=\"0 0 24 24\"><circle cx=\"12\" cy=\"12\" r=\"10\"\/><path d=\"M12 16v-4\"\/><path d=\"M12 8h.01\"\/><\/svg>It is recommended to always download the GPX tracks and study the route. Only use the file provided by automatic email before the race, which includes any last-minute changes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>The event takes place in open traffic<\/strong> and every competitor is obliged to comply with the Highway Code (Art. 190).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 16 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art16\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">16<\/div>\n<h3>Rescue and medical assistance<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>There are several aid stations along the route, connected by radio or telephone with the race headquarters. It is the responsibility of each runner in trouble to request assistance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Going to an aid station<\/li>\n<li>Calling the service number on the bib<\/li>\n<li>Asking another runner to alert for help<\/li>\n<li>By sending a WhatsApp message to the number indicated on the bib<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Each runner is obliged to assist persons in danger and to signal the need for rescue.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Medical personnel, paramedics, rescuers and guides have the authority to: force the withdrawal of any competitor unfit to continue, request the use of compulsory equipment, evacuate runners in danger, direct them to the most appropriate medical assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Treatment by means of drip leads to an obligation to withdraw from the competition. <strong>It is mandatory to stay on the marked route, even to sleep.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 17 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art17\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">17<\/div>\n<h3>Time limits and time gates<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Time barriers for leaving the aid stations are available on the event website. To continue the race, you must <strong>leaving the checkpoint before the time limit<\/strong>, regardless of the time of arrival.<\/p>\n<p>Runners who retire, are stopped or pass the time barriers cannot continue, their bib number will be cut off and they will be transported to the main area by the organisation.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 18 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art18\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">18<\/div>\n<h3>Pick-up and transport to Bora Village<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>The competitor may withdraw from the competition <strong>exclusively at a checkpoint<\/strong>, except in cases of injury along the way. You must inform the person in charge of the checkpoint or signal your intention to withdraw via WhatsApp.<\/p>\n<p>It is essential to keep the bib number, which serves as a pass for shuttles, meals, infirmary. Return can take place via:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Buses are available from some aid stations (identified by the \u00abbus\u00bb symbol on the maps).<\/li>\n<li>Competitors retiring at points not served by the shuttle must reach the nearest return point independently.<\/li>\n<li>At the closing of the checkpoint, the organisation can make arrangements for the return of the vehicles, depending on their availability.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>  <!-- ART 19 --><\/p>\n<div class=\"s1-r-art\" id=\"art19\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-hd\">\n<div class=\"s1-r-art-num\">19<\/div>\n<h3>Rest<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>During the race, runners will have rest areas available at several aid stations, as indicated on the event page. Data is collected for organisational purposes and is stored for <strong>10 years<\/strong>, renewable with each registration.<\/p>\n<p>After 10 years, without explicit consent, all data will be deleted except surname, first name, date of birth, gender and nationality to maintain the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Participants can access their data via the reserved space or by e-mail to <strong>info@s1trail.com<\/strong>.
