Novelty 2027! A very special finale!
Borin becomes a real borin! A walk - or short race - but really spicy. Departure from the beach together with all the competitors, the classic tour of the trenches, the climb towards Sistiana and then... no crossroads this year: the Borin competitors will be the only ones to continue towards the Costa dei Barbari, with a steep descent that will make you thank you for wearing good shoes. You return towards the finish line together with the Ultra and Borderless competitors. Little distance, lots of character.

Four kilometres on the Karst, from PortoPiccolo beach to the Barbari Coast and back. La Borin is the right race for those running the Karst for the first time, for those who want to take children on a real route without sacrificing the scenery, or for those looking for a manageable distance with an authentic character. Trail shoes recommended.
PortoPiccolo beach and the World War I trenches
Everyone starts together — Ultra, Borderless and Borin — from PortoPiccolo beach, with the sea behind. The first section climbs through the trenches of the Karst front: white limestone, Mediterranean scrub, wild sage. A landscape that tells history without signs, on a well-marked and progressive trail. Legs warm up, breathing opens, the sea stays in sight until the first ridge.
Sistiana (Sesljan): a piece of the Karst all for itself
Sistiana brings the 2027 novelty. In previous editions there was a junction here: the longer distances continued, the Borin turned back. Not this year — Borin runners are the only ones to reach Sistiana, and from here they continue towards the coast instead of returning. An unexpected moment: an entire stretch of Kras with no other runners around.
Costa dei Barbari (Botanjek): the stretch you don't expect
From Sistiana the path descends towards the Costa dei Barbari, wild coastline between Sistiana and PortoPiccolo, with no facilities, hidden coves and open views over the Gulf of Trieste. The trail is karstic — live terrain, some roots, watch your footing — but the descent is short and well-marked. Nothing technical, but concrete enough to make the race memorable.
Suitable for children with some trail experience.
The finish line at PortoPiccolo
From the coast the trail returns to PortoPiccolo, where the Borin rejoins the longer distances at the same finish line: same beach, same celebration, warm refreshments for everyone. Borin runners will have seen a stretch of coast no other competitor will have covered. Four kilometres, but well chosen.
Can't find the GPS track?
Use our interactive map (and, when available, those of ITRA): they offer a accurate representation to the centimetre of the route, not downloadable but more than enough to draw your reconnaissance laps.
We often publish rings and sections precisely so that you can test the track yourself before the event.
To avoid inconsistencies and ensure that everyone uses the latest version, the official GPX track is only released once, in the week before the race. In the past, many people would download a track many months in advance and then no longer follow the updates: with any works, detours or temporarily impracticable passages, they risked using a file that was not aligned with the balisage. That is why today we only distribute the GPX close to the event.

PortoPiccolo - Bora Village
Start and finish of all races. The Bora Village in PortoPiccolo is the base of the event: a completely covered and heated facility overlooking the Gulf of Trieste, where you will find everything you need before, during and after the race.
A single location for bibs, expo, showers, catering and prize-giving - no trips, no dispersal. You arrive, you run, you celebrate.
Accommodation
Apartment or hotel: book independently or directly from your runner profile. At La Corsa della Bora you can share an apartment with other runners - we take care of matching roommates.
PortoPiccolo and Sistiana offer solutions within walking distance. Trieste is a 20-minute bus ride away.
Shuttles
Dedicated shuttles both to and from Trieste Central Station to Bora Village and vice versa. Each distance has its own timetable - check the page for your race.
Bora Village is also on the regular airport-Trieste bus line: you can reach it by public transport without a shuttle bus.
Arriving in Trieste
Bora Village is in a strategic location:Two minutes from the motorway exit, 15 minutes from Trieste Central Station, 20 minutes from Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport.
By car, train, bus or plane - Trieste is closer than you think. From Ljubljana it is 90 minutes, from Venice less than two hours.
