Update of the forecast below at 09.00 on Friday 3 January 2025:
As a supplement to yesterday's forecast for La Corsa della Bora, it is announced that on the afternoon of Sunday 5
the sky will be cloudy to overcast with the possibility of some light rain. Maximum temperatures in Trieste
area will be around 9 °C, while on the Karst and Val Rosandra between 5 and 7 °C.

Saturday 4 January 2025:
- Morning (departure at 8 a.m. from PortoPiccolo Expedition):
- Weather conditions: Clear day with clear or at most slightly cloudy skies.
- Temperature: Minimum between 1°C and 3°C; during the central hours, a slight rise to 8-10°C is expected.
- Winds: Weak from the north-east, almost imperceptible, creating comfortable conditions.
- Evening (departure at 20:00 from PortoPiccolo, transit on the Karst ridge and in Val Rosandra between 20:00 and 5:00):
- Weather conditions: Skies still mostly clear, with a slight haze possible in some lower areas (e.g. in Val Rosandra), but not significant.
- Temperature: They gradually fall to 0°C in coastal areas and to -1/-2°C in more inland and wind-sheltered areas.
- Winds: Weak and variable, with rare, light gusts on the Karst ridge.

Sunday 5 January 2025:
- Weather conditions: Still a favourable day, with clear or slightly cloudy skies, in the afternoon intensifying clouds
- Temperature: Minimum between -1°C and 2°C in the early morning, maximums pleasant around 8-10°C in the afternoon.
- Winds: Light north-easterly, with a possible moderate intensification in the afternoon,
Important notes and recommendations:
- Fog: Slight fog banks may form locally in the early morning hours in more inland or sheltered areas, but will be short-lived.
- Temperature: Night conditions, although cold, are in line with seasonal averages. They will be manageable with appropriate clothing and thermal layers.
- Routes: The atmospheric stability reduces the risk of muddy or slippery paths, although on steep sections, caution is always advised for ice at night. .
