La Corsa della Bora
Gulf of Trieste, Sunday, 10 January 2027
La Corsa della Bora is S1 Trail’s winter trail running event: on 9–10 January 2027 across the Karst, between Trieste and Slovenia, with seven distances from 4 to 116 km and the finish at PortoPiccolo.
ExpertBora Ultra
The complete version of the Bora: long, varied, structured as a journey in two acts - first the night and then the day. If you really want to feel “inside” La Corsa della Bora, this is the race that tells it all.
AdvancedTrieste Ultra
Headlamp, silence, cold and concentration typical of the night, with the continuous transition between urban environment and nature. The race with the most cinematic feel.
AdvancedTransKarst
For those looking for something more than a long race: an experience with a strong identity, where perception changes and the idea of crossing becomes the protagonist.
IntermediateBorderless
A characterful race, with that borderline flavour that makes the experience different from the classic “loop” races. It leaves you with the impression that you have really moved into a place.
For allHalf Trail
The most balanced race: varied, exciting, with the right mix of smoothness and fatigue. The perfect distance to feel the soul of the Bora.
For allFamily Hike & Trail
Designed for those who want to experience La Corsa della Bora in a simple and enjoyable way: plenty of beauty and atmosphere, without chasing performance.
For allBorin
A true borin! Not much distance but lots of character: collective start, tour of the trenches and this year a spicy finish towards the Costa dei Barbari.

The Race of the Bora
Trail running between Italy and Slovenia. Seven distances, one wind. From short distances to ultra, across the Karst.
Not a race. A journey.
La Corsa della Bora is not just running. It is crossing the Italian and Slovenian Karst discovering its landscapes, history and character - at every step something changes.
12 editions. Never the same route.
Every year the trails are renewed. Those who return find different paths, new perspectives, the same wind. In 2027: one hundred per cent new routes.
The wind tells all.
The Bora is not just a name: it is the wind that sculpts the Karst, that pushes you or stops you, that makes every metre different from the previous one. Here you run into the landscape, not over it.

Pay less. If you do not participate, you lose nothing.
Free cancellation up to 72 hours before the race. Changes to your entry up to 12 hours before. Everything independently, without explanations.
Insurance is available on the registration form at the time of registration.
Trieste: where the trail meets the sea
The Gulf of Trieste is the ideal destination for winter trail running. Mild climate on the coast, snow-capped mountains in the background, trails that in just a few kilometres go from the seashore to the Karst paths.
From mountain to sea
Routes ranging from the rocky coastline to the Karst forests. You go from altitude to shore in just a few kilometres: technical terrain, fast descents and views that change with every turn.
Karst, two countries
The trails cross the Italian and Slovenian Karst: Bora-beaten moorland, fragrant pine forests, hidden dolines and paths from the Great War. A border territory without equivalent.
Mitteleuropa by the sea
Trieste is a capital city with all the amenities, but with the soul of a border city: historic cafes, Habsburg architecture, bookshops and theatres. After the race, the city is part of the experience.
Zero km at the aid stations
At the aid stations you will find typical Karst products: cheese, salami, Teran wine, olive oil. Strictly zero kilometre, strictly handmade.
The right winter for running
La Corsa della Bora is perfect for those who want a break from the racing season without stopping - or for those looking for technical terrain at low altitudes where they can push themselves to the limit. Wide times, distances for all levels, no ranking pressure: enjoying the scenery is already the result.
Challenge or discovery: you choose
Seven distances, from 4 km to the 116 km ultra. For those who want to push themselves, there are technical sections and descents where the legs spin fast. For those who want to explore, the routes pass through villages, cliffs, trenches and woods that in themselves are worth the journey. You don't have to choose beforehand: the Karst terrain decides for you.
Thanks to the 24,000 athletes that in 12 years have made La Corsa della Bora a classic trail running event.

In Trieste, you never know.
One year in short sleeves drinking beer by the sea after the race. The next year wrapped up to the teeth. The weather changes, the fun remains. Look at the statistics of 10 editions and decide at the last moment how to dress.
