La Corsa della Bora: final routes 2022

    This is it!

The routes are final and certified

La Corsa della Bora this year will be unique, as always with maximum safety, but also without exaggerating the aspects that are creating division and confusion among many runners these days. For us, safety and compliance are essential. Without exaggerating it, but also without taking it lightly.

Already in Tarvisio, for Alpe Adria Ultra, we have open changing rooms and showers. It can be done, and we have done it.

If possible, we will also do so at La Corsa della Bora. The Green Pass will be required, where it is obligatory. We will, as always, apply the regulations in force, with the guarantee of maximum protection for the runners.
Now that we have told each other everything about COVID, we can think about running.
Here are the major innovations for 2022:

Entries do not have time limits, on many distances the minimum price is already sold out. We are at the average price, however affordable.

    S1 Half - 18 km

An evocative finale, leading to the last kilometres on the rocky beach, in a finish that is anything but predictable and will require all mental and physical effort.

    S1 Urban - 32 km

    Profile Urban trail 32 k 2022 Trieste
The perfect synthesis of urban trail with wilderness!
Departure from the central MOLO AUDACE in Piazza Unità d'Italia, at the water's edge but with the snow-capped mountains behind.
Four kilometres of urban running towards the Barcola promenade, where we take paths between houses to arrive at the Opicina Obelisk, where we meet the 21 km route

    S1 Ecomarathon - 42.195 km

Altimetric Profile Urban marathon Trieste 2022
First national competition in the FIDAL calendar
The Trieste Marathon, with a route that wants to recall the purest tradition of this classic distance, in the mileage, the distribution of the ascent and the type of terrain, but also following the idea of running a line between a city and a small town on the coast.

    S1 Trail - 57 km

    Height profile S1 Trail 57 km 2022
The 57 km returns to Slovenia! After the climb up Mount Kokos, we return to Slovenia. A new landscape, after forest maintenance work, with an even more open view of the Gulf of Trieste and Koper.

An edition that is faster and with less altitude difference than in 2021 and completely focused on the landscape. The route is completely linear, drawing the profile of the Karst plateau

    S1 Night - 80 km

    S1 Night Trail Altimetric Profile
Night Trail completes and extends 57 km race. In 2022 we return to Slovenia!

A route that encompasses the most beautiful section of the 164-kilometre race (held in odd-numbered years), passing the summit of Mount Slavnik at a height of 1,000 metres, overlooking the sea. From here, we return towards the coast, passing through carted fields and Crni Kal Castle before arriving at Socerb Castle.

A route between short but very intense climbs, fast sections interspersed with technical rock sections, but always with breathtaking views.

    S1 Ipertrail (GPS)

The 2022 edition will feature a single course with a start at Sella Nevea and climb up the slopes of Mount Canin to Sella Prevala, and then descend into Slovenia to Bovec.
About 25 km on a route that could have up to 3 metres of snow.
A section where snowshoes are to be used (provided at the start and can be left behind at the end of the heavily snow-covered section).

    S1 1/2 Ipertrail (GPS)

The last 80 km of the Ipertrail, but still in GPS version and with similar management to the crates. A perfect test bench to test oneself with the Ipertrail race strategies, but without tackling the most technically demanding section.

However, do not underestimate the ½ Ipertrail: it is true that the kilometres are half as long, it is true that the time to cover them is long... but it is also true that GPS navigation will not be made easy and the paths chosen will be the most beautiful but also the most challenging in the Isonzo Karst.
So be careful not to confuse the ½ Ipertrail for an 80 km race. If you are looking for that there is the S1 Night Trail!
