La Corsa della Bora 2024: A Journey through Taste and Sustainability

The delicacies of yesteryear will return: hand-sliced ham ๐Ÿ–, smoked salmon ๐Ÿฃ, homemade bread ๐Ÿž, Val Rosandra olive oil ๐Ÿซ’ and craft beer ๐Ÿบ. These delicacies will be complemented by cakes and lasagne. Cheese ๐Ÿง€, a fixed element in recent editions, will be scaled down, but we will offer such a variety of food that each refreshment point will be unique from the others. And to add a touch of anticipation to your culinary journey, we will be publishing a mini-guide ๐Ÿ“– in which you can find out in advance what awaits you refreshment by refreshment.

In 2024, the concept of 'km 0' and home-made delicacies make their grand return to the food courts! ๐Ÿก๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

During the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Corsa della Bora โ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ, in the throes of the COVID pandemic ๐Ÿ˜ท, we've received a lot of positive feedback regarding the standardisation and simplification of our refreshment points. We offered few products, pre-prepared and sealed in paper bags ๐Ÿž๐Ÿฅค. This approach, besides being safer in a pandemic context, has also allowed for a significant reduction in waste, a primary goal of ours โ™ป๏ธ.

However, in 2023, many runners expressed a wish to return to a greater variety of food ๐Ÿฅ˜ and home-made ๐Ÿก products, as in the first editions. We missed the rich buffets of yesteryear, full of local specialities ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿฐ. But we also know that before the pandemic, this great variety often led to a considerable waste of food, something we wish to avoid ๐Ÿšซ.

Thus, at the beginning of June, during the Alpe Adria Trail ๐Ÿž๏ธ, we experimented with a new organisation of refreshments. We reintegrated home-made cakes ๐Ÿฅฎ, seasonal fruit ๐Ÿ“ and varied the offer of food from one refreshment point to the next ๐Ÿ”„, while keeping an eye on limiting waste.

And the feedback has been positive ๐Ÿ‘. So, we are preparing for the next La Corsa della Bora with the same wealth of delicacies as the first editions, but with a commitment to minimise waste and respect the land ๐ŸŒ.

This renewed approach to refreshments is a great challenge for us ๐ŸŽฏ but it is a journey into flavours that we are happy to undertake. Every year, we study and consider all the feedback we receive, because it is precisely in the weak points that we find the opportunity to grow and improve ๐ŸŒฑ. Your experience at the Corsa della Bora is what matters most to us, which is why we are constantly striving to optimise our service, with the aim of best combining the pleasure of gastronomic discovery ๐Ÿ˜‹ and respect for the environment and the land ๐ŸŒฟ.
